First Time Application Form

Fill out the application directly in the file that opens then print it or print application and fill out by hand. Once completed, mail to AERC.

Please be sure to check and complete all questions. The evaluation cannot be completed until all required documents and fees have been received by AERC.

Second Time Application Form to Request Official Evaluation

Applicants who have an evaluation on file may request an additional official evaluation report by completing the “Request for Additional Official Copies Form" and mail it to AERC with the appropriate fee (See Fee Schedule). AERC keeps records for four years.

AERC reserves the right to deny a request for an additional official report if evaluation policies have changed or if there are new requirements by the receiving institution of licensing board. In such case, a new report must be issued with a new application and fees are required.

Instructions

  1. Complete AERC Application Form
    • Check type of service requested
    • If requesting foreign credentials evaluation, check the type of report that suits your needs
    • Be sure to complete all questions on the Application Form as requested
    • Send all original educational records including proof of completion of high school, diplomas or degree certificates
    • Certified English translation if records are in foreign language
    • Sign and date the Application Form
    • Once the application is submitted, any changes must be in writing
    • Enclose applicable fee, this must include a mailing fee for AERC to return the original documents by certified or registered mail
    • It is the applicant’s responsibility to check the acceptance of AERC evaluation by the receiving institution
    • Read the three IMPORTANT terms in the application form
    • Alterations or irregularities in records presented will result in such documents to be impounded and the information disseminated to the appropriate authorities, institutions, and evaluation services. Refunds will not be processed in such a case.
  2. Submit original/official transcripts and diplomas (Academic records)
    • “Originals” are documents with a signature and fresh seal of the educational institution sent by the applicant.
    • “Officials” are documents with signature and fresh seal sent directly by the institution of attendance to AERC.
    • Original and official documents sent by the applicant are returned to the applicant upon completion of the evaluation. Documents and report must be returned by Registered or Certified Mail (please see Fee Schedule). AERC is not responsible for documents lost, stolen or damaged in the mailing process.
    • Include program of study and course description, if available.
    • Be sure your transcripts of records reflect “units/credits, hours, and points” for each subject.
  3. Certified English Translations when documents are in a foreign language
    • If requesting translation and evaluation, translation fees are additional.
    • Translation fees are not refundable
  4. Include fees according to the Fee Schedule (Check or Money Order payable to AERC)

  5. Applicants requesting evaluation to be submitted for the Boards of Accountancy these are the requirements:
    • Applicant MUST request transcripts of records to be sent directly to AERC by the issuing institution to process the evaluation to be accepted by the boards. Please contact the institution and request official transcripts of records with subjects, grades, credits/units or hours for each subject with dates of attendance and degree earned listed in the transcripts. If transcripts of records required translation, translation must be prepared by a license, translated by an ATA certified translator or AERC can provide the official translation. (Notary public translations are not accepted).
    • Applicant should send separated the Original diplomas (with official translation if it need) with AERC complete application for evaluation.
    • Please note the education earned through the ACCA outside of an accredited degree-granting institution are not longer accepted by the California Board of Accountancy/CBA. The ACCA education will be accepted by CBA if it is earned in conjunction with a conferred baccalaureate degree and appear on the foreign transcripts from the nationally recognized foreign educational institution in United States.
Please note:

Applicants who have studied in People's Republic of China need to contact the China Academic Degrees Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC) and request the China Qualifications Verification Credentials Report including transcripts and diploma and this report must be sent directly to AERC.
