The American Education Research Corporation, Inc. (AERC) believes that a major source of strength for our nation comes from the knowledge, skills, and educational background of our entire people. To understand our local and national concerns, we need to understand ourselves in terms of diversity and cultural concerns. Regardless of race, religion, sex, or economic status, people must have the opportunity to learn, work, and achieve to the fullest of their potential and capability. AERC recognizes that people in today’s mobile society need skills and education to function in a self-reliant manner. AERC provides opportunities by clarifying the skills and education of its citizens, residents, and the international community at large through its services.
What We Do
American Education Research Corporation (AERC) is an independent professional service that offers its expertise to school districts, colleges, universities, higher education systems, companies, law firms, and government institutions. It is staffed by career professionals who are dedicated to the purpose of making higher education available to all who seek it.
AERC bases its evaluations on recommendations established by the International Evaluation Standards Council, (formerly the National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Credentials), by recognized international and professional organizations, and its own research. As a result, AERC accepts only original or official documents for evaluation. AERC completes its commitment to full evaluation service by providing translation, authentication services, and institutional accreditation listings to its clients. These additional services are unique to AERC.
The final result of the evaluation that AERC provides to its clients are easy to read and employ. AERC evaluation analysts work thoroughly and quickly, to ensure quality evaluations at minimal cost.
AERC was founded by Dr. John Sheety in 1983. With a Doctorate of Philosophy in educational psychology from Claremont Graduate University, Dr. Sheety held many senior positions in education, vocational and career counseling, psychological testing, community affairs, and contributed outstanding service in international education.
Dr. Sheety had more than 25 years of experience in foreign credential evaluation. He is well published and author of the “The International Guide for Registrars K–2,” the first instructional guide for assisting high school registrars to determine proper placement of foreign students from South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico. He also developed and published various achievement tests and testing materials for private and public use. Dr. Sheety was a frequent lecturer and speaker on a state and national level.
AERC is honored to continue the legacy of Dr. Sheety by promoting excellence in delivering translation and credential evaluation services to every student striving to obtain the American dream.
